Gear Buddy Opinion
The Backland series was designed to be light enough to handle uphill, while being stable enough to provide reliable and fun decent. The 95 version is only slightly lighter than the 100 version at 1350g per ski. Given that the slimmer waist will help to provide better agility and solid edge grip.
These are an awesome all-around ski for those like me who emphasize big missions and steep skiing. I love the HRZN rise in the tips for flotation in deeper days. The flatter camber holds a great edge while skinning and on hard pack. These are a ski mountaineering ready ski without the need to downsize to super skinny skis. Perfect with the Backland binding. I also highly recommend the accompanying hybrid skin. The glue is great, plenty of grip and glide. They're the best skins I've owned, and not having to trim them is sweet.
