Gear Buddy Opinion
The Origin series was developed by liberty as an ultra versatile ski that can handle any an terrain or snow conditions put in its path, regardless of whether you are in bounds or out. The 96 is the slimmest of the bunch and best suited as a one ski quiver for someone who wants to ski anywhere and everywhere. Not to mention this ski weighs just 1830g per ski making it light enough to tour on.
Bought a pair (182s) last Spring after a buddy I skied with sang their praises after being on them a couple of seasons. I have been on them six days so far this year and just love them. I came from Blizzard Brahmas, which were great as a carving ski but just tough for me to get around quickly. My Origin 96s have proven to be the most versatile ski I have ever skied on. They handle great on groomers, big or small turns. What really impressed me was how quick they were on bumps and in the trees. I just got back from Killington where we had 6-8' of new snow. They worked great. From the early runs on untracked snow and corduroy, to late in the day when the snow had been stacked up a bit. They didn't bounce around and just did what I asked them to do. If you want a capable, yet fun ski - I highly recommend them.
