Gear Buddy Opinion
The Salomon Stance line was developed for dependable and reliable all mountain performance. These skis are great for the no frills skier who prefers to stay on the ground and carve over flying through the air and buttering. The 102 is best for hard chargers who want a bit more width for soft snow.
Granted this ski can't be featherweight because of it's bomber construction. Otherwise the new Stance skis are absolutely amazing! They feel pleasant and responsive cruising around the Jackson Hole groomers with my 9y/o daughter. But it is when they got out onto the big mountain that they impressed me most. Stable & damp at high speeds through powder, crud, dust on crust, breakable and thick stuff. Yet all the while remaining responsive and floaty; a combination that until this ski I have never experienced. In my opinion Salomon has mastered the equation of an all mountain ski with the Stance 102.
